The Inca Trail to Machu Picchu 4 days is without a doubt one of the most beautiful roads of the world. It is a unique experience, with walks through ecosystems and flora from the Andean desert to the tropical jungle, and visiting amazing Inca constructions. You will also find incredible views of the Andes mountain range, its valleys and its mighty rivers. The Incas used these paths for their pilgrimage to the sacred citadel of Machu Picchu, so you will travel the historical path than the Incas of ancient times.
Day 1: Landing In Lima City Airport
Upon arrival at the Lima City Airport, a bucket list destinations representative will meet you and Transfer to the hotel in Miraflores district and Overnight stay in Lima.
Day 2: Leaving For Cusco City
Breakfast at the hotel, pick up and transfer to the airport to get your domestic flight to Cusco City. Travelling from Lima to Cusco you will have gone from sea level to the heady heights of 11,500 feet. To give you the chance to acclimatize, the first day is free for relaxation. But if you're up for a bit of exploring, the city center is pedestrian-friendly and full of fascinating sites, colours and people. We're happy to recommend the city's best options for delicious dining and exciting shopping. Overnight in Cusco City Hotel.
Day 3: CUSCO - KM 82 - AYAPATA
We leave by bus from Cusco (3350m), at 5:30am. Along the way we see extensive fields of crops and towns that maintain their ancestral traditions and customs. Kilometer 82 marks the meeting place with the support team (porters) and the starting point of the Inca Trail. After three hours of walking we will have lunch in Hatunchaka (3000m), a small village where you can buy water, snacks and use the bathrooms. We continue to our camp Ayapata (3100m), the last town on the route. Difficulty level: Moderate Walking time: 5 hours Total distance: 11 km/6.8 mi.
Day 4: AYAPATA – WARMIHUAÑUSKA - PACAYMAYO
Dawn offers the most pleasant panorama of a cozy and enigmatic scene. In the morning we will resume the path, climbing the Ayapata ravine (3300m), Lulluchapampa (3850m) and then the highest pass called “Warmihuañusca” (4200m), where we observe the impressive Nevado Verónica. After enjoying the panoramic view we descend to the Pacaymayu valley (3500m) where our lunch and overnight stay awaits us at the camp of the same name. Difficulty level: Strenuous Walking time: 7-8 hours Total distance: 15 km/9.3 mi
Day 5: PACAYMAYO - WIÑAYHUAYNA
It is the longest and most beautiful day, due to the constant changes of the ecosystem, in the morning we continue the path to the Runcuracay pass (3950m): place where we see the panoramic view of the Aobamba valley (34000m) in the depth of the tropical forest. They get denser. We will visit the archaeological groups of Runcuracay (3750m), Sayacmarka (3650m) and Phuyupatamarca (3600m) where we will have lunch before continuing to the last camp of Wiñayhuayna (2650m) Difficulty level: Moderate - Easy Walking time: 8-9 hours
Day 6: WIÑAYHUAYNA – MACHUPICCHU - CUSCO
After our breakfast, at 4:00am, we head with our flashlights towards the Puerta del Sol (Inti Punku) at 2780m, where the dawn of Machu Picchu and Huayna Picchu appears by surprise. At 8am, we visit the citadel of Machu Picchu (2400m), a place that will enrich us, due to its history and culture (2 hours of guidance), in harmony with nature. Then we will go down by bus to Aguas Calientes for the last lunch before taking the train from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo and continuing by bus to Cusco (3350m).
